One additional feature is that we can utilize Bonjour (Apple's implementation of Zero Config networking) within our network to connect and record audio sessions.... March Madness in North Dakota: Go Magi!

Not a podcast, but a live Internet broadcast of our high school basketball games in the state tournament being done by two freshman coaches using a Macintosh Powerbook. Thursday 3:00 pm Boys, 7:15 pm Girls http://www.gomagi.org/ Instead of commercials they cut away to interviews of players, coaches, cheerleaders, etc. done using Garageband.

Lots of good conversation about trusted sources of information and the need at all levels to teach students media literacy skills.One woman was a bit confused about Wikipedia and she thought it was a site that Will ran.... Will made great use of Jon Udell's Heavy Metal Umlot screencast and I could tell the audience was much more receptive to the idea of Wikipedia when they saw the amount of work and passion that went into growing and keeping clean this small part of the commons.

Viewing Art Work Like a Google Map...

In another example of how the Google Maps interface is influencing web design, John Johnston, of Sandaig School in Glasgow, has created an interesting Flash based interface to view examples of student art. The art pieces are large wall sized murals and you can navigate and zoom in around the art work similar to moving around on a Google Map.... We have a very large mural at Lewis Elementary, and I'll have to ask John to help me do something similar...
