Aspen Ideas Festival: This week a few members of the WC team are attending the Aspen Ideas Festival, a week-long convergence in Aspen, Colorado, packed with seminars and discussions geared toward generating productive conversation around some of the world's greatest challenges, and emerging solutions.... They point to the Aspen Ideas Festival, taking place in Colorado this week.

A Dogwood tree that was planted just outside my office was snapped and stirpped of its branches.

Carter is the founder of Sustainable South Bronx, "an organization dedicated to community development and sustainable projects that create jobs, protect the environment and bring green spaces to the inner city..." It is a very inspiring and informative talk and fits in nicely with some of the work that our staff has been doing on sustainability issues with our partners from Portland State University.

After a first look at Quikmaps, I spent a bit more time this morning playing around with it and am even more impressed. Description boxes accept html and you can easily imbed things like video and pictures into the description boxes.

QuickMaps is a web based tool for creating and annotating Google Maps. It is by far the easiest interface I have seen for annotating and marking up Google Maps.

With family and friends taking part in summer travel trips, I am once again interested in tools for tracking flights.... The flight's relative position to the ground is noted and the flight's information and position is automatically updated every minute.

Well, since they don't yet, Jake Cord of Scurvy Jake's Pirate Blog has created a web tool that will convert Google Analytics geo data into a .KML file that can be loaded up in Google Earth. With a few simple steps you can export the data from Google Analytics and view it Google Earth.
