As I headed out to crosswalk duty, I took this picture of the bikes in our bike racks. It is nice to work in a building where so many students can walk or ride bikes to school. We have been involved with a program to encourage students and families to do more of this and it has been a great success.
Tomorrow night Lewis Elementary will hold its 18th annual Art Night. This is a annual night were we highlight the art work of our students and provide an opportunity for our 3rd grade Recorder Club, Beginning and Intermediate Bands, and Marimba Band to perform. Lewis parent Martin Nicholson, along with our Americorps Volunteer, Kelly Alsup and PSU students Angela LeVan and Matt Bibeau helped lead a group of volunteers from our community, and Portland State University, in prepping the new location and moving the greenhouse from its old location.
